ABC’s “EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION”

Perma-Chink Systems would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the volunteers who helped to build a dream-come-true for the Goodale Family. We especially recognize the contribution of our customers who helped to apply Perma-Chink Systems products, giving time and commitment directly from the heart.

ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” joined with Katahdin Cedar Log Homes of Oakfield, ME and Redmond, WA based Perma-Chink Systems, Inc., The Log Home Authority™ to build a spectacular 4,000 square foot cedar log home for the Goodale Family of Wells, Maine.
The Goodale’s fortunes changed abruptly in 1997 when Doug Goodale, a lobsterman, husband and father of two, lost his arm in an accident at sea near Wells Beach. As he subsequently struggled to rebuild his career and support his family, the family home regrettably went neglected.
The lives of this lucky family were changed forever when they learned they had been selected to have their home completely re-built. Katahdin Cedar Log Homes, one of the country’s leading log home producers, in collaboration with a team of World Class Designers from “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” built a truly magnificent log home for the Goodale Family.
Perma-Chink Systems, Inc. President Rich Dunstan, who was personally involved in the project from Day One, had this to say about the “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”:
“It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience to witness this gorgeous log home being built in just seven days. It was amazing to see the army of volunteers working together to build a dream for a family in need.” With paintbrush and chink pump in hand, Rich personally led the teams applying Perma-Chink System’s products used in the Goodale log home.
Perma-Chink Systems was proud to finish the interior and exterior walls of the home with high-performance Lifeline™ stains and finishes. They then sealed the logs for a lifetime using their world famous Energy Seal chinking products.
